GLENALA EDUCATION presents its own EMPLOYABILITY AWARD for school leavers and young people seeking employment.

The general aim of the Employability Award is to develop the self-esteem, self- awareness, and self-confidence in young people as they develop and engage in learning. It aims to equip the candidate to recognise employment opportunities and identify possible progression routes. The Award will develop the skills and attitudes which are necessary in becoming successful employees and will be a steppingstone to achieving meaningful employment. 

The following 8 modules listed below aims to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding required in developing today’s young workforce. Every module is based on a notional 6 hours, but may vary depending on candidate needs, and all 80 hours are expected to be completed within 6 months. The Award is assessed by academic staff who are all registered as teachers or lecturers with the General Teaching Council and fully certificated by the Company. 

Modules include: 

Module 1: Seeking employment and career choices

Module 2: Building a winning CV and making an impression in an interview

Module 3: Starting a new job – expectations

Module 4: Different types of work organisations and its implications

Module 5: Responsibilities of employees and employers within employment

Module 6: Learning to deal with different work situations

Module 7: Skills for excellent customer care

Module 8: Planning for next steps
